What is Wet & dry rate?

A wet rate includes fuel in the aircraft hire price; a dry rate excludes fuel, which the hirer pays for separately.

When hiring an aircraft, a "wet" rate includes the cost of fuel in the hourly charge, so you pay one figure. A "dry" rate excludes fuel: the hire is cheaper per hour, but the pilot buys fuel separately.

Clubs and schools may quote either, and rates are usually charged against Hobbs or tacho time.
